Mexican illustration in Neukölln

Thursday 18th July – 7pm

This Thursday Mexican graphic designer and illustrator Lucía Revilla will unveil her latest exhibition at Neukölln favourite Idrawalot. Focussing on a fantastical pacific scene, the exhibition will be an abstracted world of underwater creatures, colours and lights – who said you have to escape to Melt Festival to be on another planet?

Happy Birthday Platoon Kunsthalle! 1 Year Party

Friday 19th July – 9pm

A heavyweight in the Berlin art scene, it feels like just yesterday when Platoon Kunsthalle threw open their shipping container doors for a fabulous opening party. A year on and there is much to celebrate, including a massive list of successful talks, exhibitions and events, notable ones in the last few months including Photo Hack Day and The Month Of Performance Art. Celebrate Platoon’s one year anniversary with a crazy night of dancing which you can RSVP to here.

PSM Gallery: Lizard Slim Moonlight Lounge

Saturday 20th July – 8pm

Part of Moonlight Lounge’s series of one evening presentations, PSM will host an evening with concerts and video program to coincide with the end of Thomas Chapman’s exhibition, ‚Glisten‘. Austrian artist Nikolaus Suchentrunk will present his video work alongside video pieces by Chapman, who will also conduct a live performance of ‚Glisten‘ an EP he has recorded for the exhibition.

Jeremy Shaw at Schinkel Pavillon – Summer Party

Saturday 20th July – 7pm

Have you always dreamed of being a ballet dancer but never quite made it? Then don’t miss your chance to see Jeremy Shaw’s exhibition ‚Variation FQ‘, which showcases his 16mm film of famous dancer Leiomy Maldonado in an experimental, 60’s style ballet piece. Shot in black and white, the film focusses on the competitive aspects of dance. For the closing night there will be a summer party including a 2 Dj line up.

Dance & Art in a Kreuzberg bunker

Saturday 20th July – 11:45pm

If a normal club won’t cut it this Saturday night, we know where will – Fiese Remise. A converted bunker in Kreuzberg, this is the home of Puresque Bunker Visions & Art, a club night combining music with live art. This week there will be live painting from Argentine/American illustrator Ramiro Davaro-Comas and also Lucía Revilla (whose solo show we mentioned earlier).
