As if you weren’t all hot and bothered with the Berlin weather already artist collective the ƒƒ are back with ‚Dissident Desire‘, following their ‚Erogenous Zone‘ exhibition earlier this year, presenting a “slew of erotic impulses”. Focussing on the much neglected female, feminist perspective on eroticism, the event will combine the archives of the ƒƒ and also the venue District, which is an art institution based in Schöneberg. Create Berlin / Vernissage ‚We Create Berlin‘

Thursday 8th August – 7pm

The statement naming this exhibition is a bold one, many people create Berlin and its unique atmosphere, not just creatives per se. Motto / Motto x KesselsKramer

Thursday 8th August – 7pm

If there’s one thing we love almost as much as seeing art in real life it’s looking at it in beautiful books. Cosy bookstore Motto most definitely has this area covered, home to a treasure trove of arty titles to peruse during a lazy afternoon. If you haven’t checked out the store already then pay a visit this Thursday when they will welcome international publisher KesselsKrammer and their vast collection of “vernacular photography books”. Coffee table conversation starter? Check.

NGBK / Exhibition Transfer: ‚Urlaub nach dem Fall‘

Friday 9th August – 7pm

Although ‚Holiday After the Fall – Transformation of Socialist Holiday Resorts
on the Adriatic Coast of Croatia‘ may not sound like the most riveting exhibition, the photography making up this show at NGBK says otherwise. Portraying, you guessed it, transformed socialist buildings from the 60’s and 70’s in Croatia the show includes contributions from over 20 international artists and is a mixture of photography, architecture and scattered dystopias.
