Vernissage/ The Phenomenon of W24°58’59,43″ N42°07’55,29”

Friday 25th October – 8pm

The notion of ghost trains and stations may be no big shakes for Berlin (see: Nordbahnhof) but this Friday welcomes a different kind of ghost train in action as Bulgarian artist HR-Stamenov presents ‚The Phenomenon of W24°58’59,43″ N42°07’55,29”‘. Located at LEAP near Alexanderplatz, the light art installation based on the “light hole” phenomenon has already passed through a list of other European cities, ignoring physics, space and time. We’re expecting something a bit more special than the S-Bahn.

Finissage & Artist Talk / Galerie im Saalbau

Also featured are Neukolln based artist duo GODsDOGs (aka Britta&Ron Helbig) whose fantastical installations ensnare and transport the viewer to unfamiliar planes.

The apocalypse is something we as a race have been preoccupied with for a while now, and Swedish photographer Björn Abelin is no exception. Tackling the subject in his upcoming exhibition at Swedish Photography Berlin, Abelin’s large format photography features majestic, looming landscapes and an intense gaze on the damage we’re doing to our once beautiful planet.

Photoshoot & Performance / The Epic Love Story of a Warrior

Saturday 26th October – Performances at 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm

If you’re feeling adventurous this weekend and would prefer to be in an exhibition as opposed to merely observing one, C/O Berlin’s event ‚The Epic Love Story of a Warrior‘ is the answer. The name of Hungarian photographer Peter Puklus‘ current, unfinished book project, ‚The epic…‘ will re-imagine the historical narrative of the twentieth century through constructed pictures, which this weekend’s visitors will be encouraged to take part in. Incorporating elements not only of a casting and photoshoot but also performance, the event’s schedule will be announced over the weekend via Facebook, stay tuned here.
