TOP 5 OPENINGS FOR YOUR BERLIN ART WEEKEND

Berlin’s best openings (8th-10th October 2015): Galerie Eigen + Art, Kunstquartier Bethanien, Heit, Braennen, and KW Institute for Contemporary Art

Vernissage / Galerie Eigen + Art

Thursday 8th October – 5pm until 9pm

Shonah Trescott’s rich, earthy palette and swift, evocative brushwork give uncommon strength and gravity to a painterly oeuvre of expansive, expressive landscapes. Populated intermittently with shadowy figures, Trescott’s paintings are rooted in the connection between people and place, reveling in the strength of that relationship.

Galerie Eigen + Art // Auguststraße 26, 10117 Berlin

Vernissage / Kunstquartier Bethanien

Thursday 8th October – 7pm

Engage with the work of some of Berlin’s most talented up-and-coming artists with the opening of 25 Karat – Goldrausch at Kunstquartier Bethanien. In addition to presenting this year’s crop of Goldrausch graduates to the adoring masses, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Goldrausch program, 25 Karat – Goldrausch celebrates a unique history of aesthetic pedagogy with archival materials in sculptural form.

Kunstquartier Bethanien / Mariannenplatz 2, 10997 Berlin

Vernissage / Heit

Friday 9th October – 6pm until 10pm

Give in to the hysterical narcissism of Marius Glauer this Berlin art weekend at Heit. Glauer’s playful and purposeful work perfectly compliments the crispy weather with a warmth only genuine wit can offer.

Heit // Eichendorffstraase 5 , 10115 Berlin

Vernissage / Braennen

Saturday 10th October – 7pm

Whipping text and image into mixed media works on paper with a uniquely millennial aesthetic, Keven Kemter’s works embrace intimacy and oversharing in equal measures. Bearing the mark of both digital history and Duchampian installation, Kemter’s aesthetic is nothing if not a breath of fresh air.

Braennen // Stresemannstraße 25, 10963 Berlin

Vernissage / KW Institute for Contemporary Art

Saturday 10th October – 5pm until 7pm
