THE HOTEL

The ARCOTEL Velvet Berlin belongs to the privately owned Austrian hotel group ARCOTEL Hotels & Resorts and is designed as a boutique hotel with a young team that works with love on fulfilling their claim: At home with friends. Located in one of the most buzzing areas of Berlin, in Mitte, it is surrounded by some of Berlin’s most important art galleries and nice restaurants. The museum island is just 10 minutes away by foot.

If you arrive you will face a stunning facade made out of windows that reaches from the floor to the ceiling of the rooms looking over the Oranienburger Strasse. The view, especially from the 6th and 7th floor where the suites are situated is super nice and the light that is floating the rooms is just beautiful. But no worries, the hotel took care that you will sleep in peace as the windows are sound-proofed.

THE ROOMS AT THE ARCOTEL VELVET BERLIN

The Boutique hotel offers 85 rooms in three different price levels. You can count on a very fair deal when booking either a more simple Comfort Room or one of the nine suites that offer a very nice view over the roofs of Berlin Mitte.
The rooms are rather simplistic decorated as the huge windows replace a wall and make you feel like being either in the sky or in front row enjoying the urban life on Oranienburger Strasse.Wanna do business? Then go for the two business suites that offer a nice roof terrace too.

THE CROWD

Creatives and artists like to stay at the ARCOTEL Velvet as it is one of the best deals in Berlin Mitte you get for location and price.

ART / DESIGN / ARCHITECTURE

The Velvet asked the Austrian designer and artist Harald Schreiber to create the interior of the hotel. The result: Pop Art meets red meets black. Wherever you go, you encounter Berlin personalities out of art and culture –on hand woven carpets on the walls or as a portrait gallery in the bar of the hotel, called VELVET LOUNGE.

FOOD & DRINKS

As Berlin is famous for his breakfast places, the hotel decided to treat you with a super nice organic breakfast (and lunch) place that sits next door. BERLIN_THEKE is done by owners who just love food and coffee and are happy to welcome the hotel guests for a healthy breakfast that is included in the stay.

THINGS TO ENJOY

For sure check out the view from the roof terrace or have a drink in the VELVET LOUNGE and watch street life flowing by the huge windows.

THE NEIGBORHOOD

We recommend you a gallery walk, starting in Auguststrasse (just cross the street and you are there) with a visit at the impressive former Jüdische Mädchenschule (Jewish girls school) that hosts three amazing galleries and the art scene’s favorite restaurant Pauly Saal (and Pauly Bar!) as well as the cool Deli Mogg & Melzer. A minute away is the private art collection me collectors room that is open to the public and done by the collector Thomas Olbricht. Continue your stroll to the famous gallery EIGEN + ART that among other great artists represents Martin Eder.
